5 Steps To Translate Your Live Stream | AI Live Captions

In this article you’ll learn 5 easy steps to translate your live stream in real time using AI-powered live captions:

Let’s dive in.
1. Download & install Akkadu’s AI live captions software
Go to ➡️ Akkadu.cn
Download our Windows or macOS application
After you install, it should look like this
Create an account
Open Akkadu software then click any button.
It will show below login interface.
Click Register.
Fill up your:
- Username
- Password
- Confirm password
- Email validation code (which we will send to your email)
Click Register.
2. Select language & click Start
Login with your new credentials.
Go to the “Languages” section.
Select the Original language and Translated language.
- “Original language” is the language you will use during the live stream.
- “Translated language” is the language you want to show the AI-powered live captions on screen.
Go to “Audio Settings” → “Sound source” section.
Select your microphone.
(Optional)
If you want to show on the screen both languages at the same time, the original and translated one:
- Go to the “Subtitles Settings” → “Show subtitles” section
- Select “Both”
Now in the screen can be seen both languages:
Click Start
Remember the AI live captions won’t show unless you start talking.
Tip:
Click the “pin” to make the live captions always show at the front of your screen.
3. Download & install OBS (Free)
Go to OBS website
Download and install the Windows or macOS application
Open OBS
4. Add the video feed & Akkadu live captions
First click on + button to add one Scene
Then click on + to add a Source
4.1 Add Akkadu live captions
Select “Window Capture”
Select Akkadu app
Now you can see the AI live captions interface ✅
4.2 Add the video feed
Select “Video Capture Device”
It will take your webcam video feed and show on the screen
⚠️ Remember to always have the Video Capture Device on top of Window Capture
Finally, click Start Virtual Camera
5. Open your streaming platform → Choose OBS virtual camera
This will work on ANY platform you use for the live stream.
For this example we use Zoom.
Click on Camera settings.
Select the “OBS Virtual Camera”.
Now you are ready to show your webcam with the AI live captions in the language you wish!

Problems and solutions
- The AI live captions are not showing
- The AI live captions are showing very slow
- The Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
If you have any of these problems, please check the below solutions:
Problem 1: The AI live captions are not showing
Constantly recognizing but never showing the live captions:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- Your internet is stable
- You are not using VPN
- You are actually speaking
- In Akkadu audio settings, you selected your microphone
- Unnecessary apps are closed so you have more RAM memory available

Problem 2: The AI live captions are showing very slow
The live captions are showing but, they show very slow, with a long delay:
To avoid this problem:
- Make sure your interent is stable
- Make sure you are not using VPN
- Close unnecessary apps to free up RAM memory
- If the problem starts happening during the live stream:
- First, click the pause button
- Then click the start button again:
- Click Pause ➡️ Start will clean the RAM memory used by the app.
- For low performance computers you may have to do this every 2 hours.
- We recommend you use a computer with at least 16 GB RAM memory.

Problem 3: Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
After you click “Update”, the app is not updating and the blue button always keeps showing:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- You are not using VPN
- You disable your antivirus (only while updating)
- Download the latest version from our website ➡️ https://akkadu.cn

📝 How to obtain the transcription
Every time you use Akkadu’s AI live captions during your live stream, the transcriptions of the original and translated language are:
Automatically saved!
Follow below 5 steps to get your transcription:
1. Go to the “Transcripts” section
You will see all your transcripts with the:
- Date & time of creation
- Duration
2. Select “View”
(Optional)
You can delete the transcription at any time.
Deleted transcripts will be permanently removed from our systems.
3. Choose between the original or translated language
Since the transcription is saved in real time,
you can access to your live transcription during your live stream, while still using the app
(Optional)
You can edit the transcription at any time.
Notice, editing for one language won’t automatically edit the other language.
4. Click “Export”
If you want to download the transcripts, click “Export”
5. Click “Confirm”
Before confirming, make sure to select the correct:
- Name
- Path
- Format (currently support .txt and .pdf)
- Language

📈 How to improve the accuracy
You can improve the accuracy of the AI live captions during your live stream,
in just 4 steps:
1. Go to the “Terminology” section
2. Select the Original language
At the moment, you can only improve the speech recognition system.
Make sure the language you select is the same as the Original language in the “Languages” section.
3. Insert words or sentences
The terms that you add will have higher importance and will be more likely to be recognized.
Examples of words and sentences include:
- Names
- Geographical locations
- Homonyms
- Words or Acronyms unique to industry organizations
4. Click Save
If you were using Akkadu while doing these changes,
after you click Save, click pause and start again Akkadu app
